Harbour House Church was formed in October 2018, in Diamond Harbour, NZ.
We meet on Sunday afternoons at 4:30pm. Our services are contemporary in style, with modern worship songs and a relaxed teaching style. Teaching is delivered by mature members of the congregation and visiting speakers. There is a Sunday School for children and teens and following the service, we have a shared meal. Everyone is welcome to join this from 6pm.
We believe in God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus is fully God and fully man.
He was born, died and rose again.
We can all have eternal life through faith in Him. We believe the Bible is God’s word.
Who Are We?
We are a Christian group who meet together to learn about Jesus, and to love and encourage each other as Jesus taught. We welcome all people to join us.
We come from a variety of backgrounds, including a range of Christian denominations. We use the Bible as the basis for our teaching and understanding of the world.
We are supported by our Servant Leaders, who have been elected by the members. Currently, we do not have a pastor or minister or priest. We believe all members have God-given gifts and abilities to be used to assist the church
Our Purpose
Harbour House Church is called to glorify God, by loving and worshipping Him, equipping believers, and making him known to New Zealand and the World.
What do we Believe?
While everyone is welcome to come to our services, as a Bible-believing Christ-centred Church, Harbour House Church has the following foundational beliefs.
God – We believe in one living God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The Bible – We believe that The Bible, (both Old & New Testaments) is God’s holy Word. It uniquely and infallibly reveals God’s plan for His people and how to live out that plan, individually and corporately. Beliefs, practices, priorities, and our mission are to be anchored in clear biblical teachings.
Jesus Christ – We believe that Jesus Christ is God in human form, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. Jesus—Israel’s promised Messiah—was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.
The Holy Spirit – We believe that the Holy Spirit, in all that He does, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. He convicts the world of its guilt. He regenerates sinners, and in Him they are baptised into union with Christ and adopted as heirs in the family of God. He also indwells, illuminates, guides, equips and empowers believers for Christ-like living and service.
The Human Condition – We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but became alienated from this relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.
Salvation – We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient atonement for their sin.
The Church – We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him and by making him known to the lost world.
Christian Living – We believe Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. In obedience, Christians will live out their faith with care for one another, compassion toward the poor and justice for the oppressed. Christians are to make disciples, bearing witness to the gospel in word and deed.
