The Weight of Glory

This is a 1941 sermon given by C.S. Lewis, which stands as one of the most widely known and regarded sermons of the twentieth century. In it, Lewis explores humanity’s deep longing for something beyond this world—our true home. He argues that our desires aren’t too strong but too weak, as we settle for fleeting pleasures instead of the eternal joy found in God. Lewis also challenges us to see others as future beings of immense glory or horror, emphasizing the significance of our daily interactions. Ultimately, he calls us to pursue the heavenly reward we were made for—the presence of God Himself.
